2023 ACCOMPLISHMENTS
The beautification team, added additional hanging baskets to our downtown totaling 100 baskets and over 20 planters with flowers. Additional baskets and new brackets were made possible by the first ever Earth Day fundraiser hosted by the Whiskey Pickle raising over $1,300.

With the support of the Troy Redevelopment Foundation, we purchased the first of its kind, an electric UTV, called the "Intimidator" to not only cut down on our carbon footprint, but to help us maintain the watering of flowers, day-to-day clean-ups and further maintenance around the downtown.
For the first time, we ran a "Shop Small, Shop Troy" billboard on 787 South with Lamar from Mid-November to Mid-December to push shopping in Downtown during the holiday season.

We brought back Pig Out for the first time since 2019 and hosted successful Troy favorites, such as, Troy Riverfest, Rockin' on the River and Chowderfest. This year, we created a number of new annual events, such as, College Block Party connecting local college students to Downtown, Downtown Troy Hot Chocolate Stroll, and Dogtober. Each event brought a significant increase in foot traffic to our downtown as well as an increase in revenue to our businesses.
We hosted four volunteer clean-ups in Riverfront Park, Church Street Alley, Barker Park, and one large clean-up across Downtown Troy on Earth day, with the support of the YMCA of Troy and United Way.

We partnered with the Art Center of the Capital Region assisting with cleaning Church St Alley by providing power-washing and trash removal to prepare for the first ever Troy Art Block where artists live painted on the sides of buildings, creating a destination to visit in Troy. This event was voted Top 10 in USA Today as the “Best New Festival”.
Through the partnership with the Pride Center of the Capital Region and Downtown businesses we brought together the first annual "Pride Night Out" event to Downtown Troy in June, now making this an annual event to our calendar of events.
We provided holiday light decorations on 3rd and Congress St and we hung 50 kissing balls and filled our planters with holiday greens throughout the district. We will continue to expand on our holiday decor in 2024.
Thanks to our sponsorship with Pioneer and Upstate of Mind we went from 250 tote bags in 2022 to 400 tote bags in 2023 for our "Shop Small, Shop Troy" event on Small Business Saturday. Retail shops received 15 bags to give out to their first 15 customers who shopped with them that day.
